Northeastern Transfer Thread - Fall 2018

I saw on the website saying “Transfer applicants for Fall 2018 will be notified of their decision by June 1, 2018.” Will the decision be released so late and everyone get the decision at the same date?? Also having question about the suggested classes we should take in our current schools, I am applying to business school in NEU, and I saw the website mentioning one class called “business statistics,” but I don’t think my school has this kind of class, the business school in my current school only require us to take “introduction to statistics,” which I think it’s not the same as what NEU requires…will this influence my chance to get in NEU??? really worried about it lol…btw I am sophomore year student in UConn.

@Amberrr June 1 is the latest date for notification. From last year’s thread, decisions seemed to come out in early May… Transfer housing actually filled up in early May so I am assuming the majority of students were notified even before that.

I am not sure if that will effect your acceptance. I would call Northeastern directly and ask for more information about the statistics class.

And no, decisions will not come out on the same date for everyone…If the trend continues from previous years.

According to info they give, they do waves of decisions, but yeah, in May.

I also heard(from an info session for transfers) that for the last three cycles there was no housing, period, available for transfers. I do not know if that will hold true this cycle.

If you look at recent threads the first wave of people heard around April 15th their decisions

@Aran888888 Oh wow! I had not heard that regarding housing! :-/ A bit disappointing to hear since I am out of state.

@JohnSmith12345 if you look at last years first wave went out on April 21st and waves go out on Friday’s. My guess is this years first wave will be on April 20th

You know what triggers me?

Every time you log in.

“Session timed out. Please log in.”

THERE WAS NO SESSION TO TIME OUT TO BEGIN WITH, MAN.

Hey everyone, have you gotten a link to an admissions portal or something similar to check the status of your application? The other colleges I applied to had one, but I’m not sure if Northeastern does?

@JoeDangit :)) I KNOW! haha. Drives me insane!!

@twistedgalaxy Yes. There is a portal. You just need to punch in your NU ID and date of birth to log in. Not sure if URLs are allowed here so just google, “Northeastern application status check”.

@twistedgalaxy you should have received an email containing the link and your ID number roughly 1-3 days after submitting your common app.

Hi everyone! I applied to NU as a transfer for the spring and didn’t get in, but I’m trying again for the fall!

Reallllly hoping I get in. Also, anyone know how the financial aid is? I hear they are need based and go off of your FAFSA EFC, but that’s what they all seem to say…

@Em2180 Looks good. I think you have a good chance, the only thing that I see that would be problematic is the fact that you went from Syracuse to a community college and now you are looking to transfer for your second time

@Amberrr sorry just saw your concern. They didn’t waive it automatically. You ask for it. They waived mine in couple hours after it’s been approved by Board Admissions.

Did any of you have a problem submitting transfer college reports? I have been waiting for 2 weeks for NU to process a single report. Also, can we fax the document?

@yankeebanger I emailed them my college report and they posted it to my application the next day.

@“TexasRosé_” What do you mean you emailed them? Isn’t it school’s job to fill that out send them? How did NU accept it from you?

Emailed NEU about my Financial Aid and they responded by saying “For now, we have all required documents to award you a financial aid package. You should be receiving your financial aid award soon. Keep a lookout for an email directing you to view your award online. Thanks.”

do they send financial aid awards to students that are not accepted as well before decisions come out? I’m trying to figure out if this is a hint that I have been accepted

@koreanincali That’s also a question of mine, some schools award aid first according to CSS - does that mean you got in too? oh the misery
