My daughter will be a freshman in the fall and was accepted to the LLC in the International Village. However, she was assigned a single room which is way out of our budget. Is it really worth it to live in the International Village? Also, what are the quad rooms like? They are a lot cheaper are they much smaller? Are all four students in the same room? HELP!!!!

Hello, cecivonh! I am also a new NEU parent. Go, Huskies!

My son will be living in International Village because he is in the Honors college. My understanding (& I may be wrong) is that all Honor college students live in IV. So, look into that first.

The quads are two rooms that share a bathroom with a toilet and shower; each room has two beds and a sink. The singles also share a bathroom that has a toilet, shower and sink. IV is certainly very nice but it is removed abit from the main campus as one must cross a bridge over Ruggles station to get there. NEU housing has a good reputation overall, so I don’t think you’re daughter would wind up in a bad housing situation.

Call and talk to housing. Tell them that the single is out of your budget. The party line seems to be that everyone has to take the housing they are assigned for at least the first two weeks (they call it the “two week freeze”) but persistance may pay off in this case.

Best of luck!
