Is NU London three years in London plus one year in Boston?
Same here. I think NU Admissions Office created the 1/19/2023 application when they decided thatās what they would be offering your student.
really? how did you know?
When will ED2 come out? March 1?
I believe we all had the choice to switch to ED2, we just had to click that we were still interested before that option came up
I donāt think so, but it might be worth reaching out to the financial aid office. It was an opportunity back in October (?).
Found some messages on Instagram alluding to that.
S23 accepted to Boston campus for Economics & International Business. Good luck to all who are still waiting for a decision.
Yes, NU admissions clarified on Instagram
@PAMom24 I was wondering the same thing. My daughter emailed Admissions to inquire.
Question for those whose kids were deferred. Did your students have work history/jobs on their applications? I have seen over and over on boards all of these extracurricular activities, and so many similar GPAs and test scores, but rarely see work, part-time jobs, internships, etc. listed as part of a studentās background. With Northeastern focused on co-ops, I would have to think that they put weight also on students who know how to work, show up for a job, etc. On top of similar stats as above, my daughter had 5 jobs in 4 years listed on her application and got in EA last year. All of her friends at NEU also had jobs throughout high school that they had listed. I have no idea but just throwing it out there as a possibility.
My daughter was accepted to N.U.in and she has been working two jobs (restaurant and tutoring) for the past two years. She also worked at a summer camp, but I donāt think she put that on her activity list.
@Lucy16 my D put her work history on her app on top of all her high stats, ECs, volunteer work, etc. Sheās a competitive figure skater and coaches learn to skate lessons. #5 in her class of 629 students! Deferred.
Thatās a thought but my kiddo had 3 college level internships related to his intended major and a retail job listed along with good ECās and honors in his common app. High stats academics and 1560 SAT.
Deferred.
My son was admitted to NUin, and he doesnāt have any work experience.
Also, I hope you donāt mean to suggest that people were deferred because they didnāt have enough work experience! There are lots of very accomplished kids here (and parents of very accomplished kids) who are fully qualified for admission, and I bet that quite a few of them will be admitted in RD. There just isnāt enough space at Northeastern for all the wonderful accomplished kids out there.
After deferred, you have to choose whether you want to be in ED2, Regular Decision or withdraw the application.
My S21 got in NU.in EA and he didnāt get a job until after the college application process was over. My S23 was accepted ED Boston (better odds, I know), and he does not have a job. I think itās something to put on an application for sure, but I think itās probably considered on the same level of any activity that requires time, commitment, etc.
Iām sorry. Myth debunked.
I think what is important for everyone to remember is that EA admissions, other than state schools, are minimal and often go primarily to applicants with hooks. Many deferred will still be accepted.
Congrats to those that were admitted!
