After looking online I havent been able to find an exact acceptance rate for early decision. Does anybody know how much higher the AR is when applying ED vs EA Thanks!
Admissions haven’t released the numbers but they say they are about the same. However, that doesn’t say anything about the quality of students in each group. Also, ED has only been around for a year or two, so it could change significantly as it settles into use.
In your opinion would you say ED applicants have a semi higher chance/admission counselors are more lenient when it comes to viewing stats. At my school there are 3 students applying Early Action and I am applying early decision would that mean that I, being considered in a different “pool”, would be compared to them?
No one knows there, but going ED for a reason as small as that is not worth it. You should only apply ED if Northeastern is absolutely your #1 school, not to try and get a slight advantage.
Any admissions office will say that they don’t compare students from the same high school against each other. they evaluate candidates on their own merits.
@PengsPhils Northeastern is my top choice I have just recently found out that 3 other people are applying EA so I was just wondering the advantage I would be getting if any.
@LPools None
do a chance me!!!
Did anyone send in their 1st quarter grades? They don’t require them do they?
@jjmama My school sent them in automatically. They are not required, but on my portal they were listed as received. So, if you choose to send them in, I think they will be looked at.
I think you are only required to send them if you get deferred allowing them to reassess you as a candidate.
@LPools you only need to send first semester grades though, not first quarter, as those are included in the semester grades.
Clear advantage between ED and EA. NU EA admits profile are usually less than the regular pool because they don’t know if the total pool’s strength will be more/less/the same as last year.
