:)

I got in too. You can look into it more in depth on your myNEU page, and also on the university website. There are smaller classes and different living oppurtunities for Honors Program students. It is really awesome.

I got in too! I know nothing about it, however. :)

Here is the honors program website: [Northeastern University Honors Program Home Page](http://www.honors.neu.edu/)

I’m excited to potentially have honors housing because the other frosh dorms kinda suck.

Hey guy. First off congrats to all of you who got into the honors program. Thats great! I’m applying to Northeastern to enroll next year and I’m hoping to get into the honors program too. Im just not sure if my high school stats are good enough to get in. If you don’t mind my asking what was your gpa and how were your SATs/ACTs? Just wanted to know how I compare. Thanks!

Yeah for sure, my cumulative GPA was a 3.9, my SAT was a 2140 and my ACT was a 29.

If you really want honors, apply EA, you have a much better chance. I applied RD with a 2060/32/4.0/10 APs and didn’t get in, but about 4 people from my school with lower stats got in EA.

I got in regular decision… but, I have no idea what the honors program is.

Anyone care to clarify? I heard something about different housing and more work. The latter of which I’m not particularly thrilled about; I was never hard-working or anything and am very surprised to have been accepted.

I got in too
It looks like in honors you

and my stats are:
2220 SAT
4.33 GPA

I got into Honors too! I was completely taken by surprise, actually.

But here are my stats:
ACT: 33
SAT: 2010
Unweighted GPA: 3.7
Weighted GPA: 4.3

I was worried about being in Honors housing… I hear at a lot of other schools that it’s super lame, haha. These dorms sound fun and I hear that they’re some of the greatest on campus! Anyone else doing Inquiry, Advocacy, and the Social World (or something similar to that name)?

I’m planning on the Inquiry, Advocacy, and the Social World too. I am personally happy to be in IV. The location is really convenient for my major, and I love having a gym in the dorm. :)

Congratulations to all of you who got in!! Anyone get the trustee scholarship or know much about it?

yes, i got the trustee scholarship. I’m an international student who applied RD .

Canuck44 (are you an international student from Canada?): what’s your major?

Hi i’m a junior in highschool who also wants to get into the Honors program.

If they are picking the top applicants then how do all your stats look different?
Is it a mixture of things that get a person into honors? Or just G.P.A.?

I was born in Canada, but I currently live in the states. I have dual citizenship. I’m doing architecture.

BlackRose… I have read that only the top 10% of all applicants are considered for scholarships, and top 10% of applicants to each program are considered for the Honors Program. I’m not positive how they sort through the applications initially to distinguish who is in the top 10%, but I’m guessing that it may have to do with stats.

RE: Achievement, Excellence and Dean’s Schlorships: this was on the NU site.

The top 25 percent of admitted freshman applicants may be considered for these competitive merit scholarships. These awards range from $5000-$20,000 for the first year. In future years, amounts are awarded on a per semester basis, ranging from$2500-$10,000 per full semester.

My D got an excellence scholarship for $10,000 per year but no honors with 4.0/4.1 and 1950 SAT’s if this helps mark that level of award. She applied as a Psych major but has since switched to Behavioral Neuro.

Yeah it is definitely possible to be in top 25% of total applicants (get a scholarship) but not top 10% of applicants to your college (honors). I know of several engineering non-honors students who had higher scholarships than my honors environmental studies roommate. Don’t worry about it though, because strong students can always apply after first semester and get into honors.

Are there any current honors students on this thread? My S is wondering if there will be honors sections (separate section of a regular class just for honors students) of many/any of the classes he would take as a freshman CS student, or whether it’s mostly electives and self-directed study that would be honors classes.
