Hello all,

Checking to see how everyones RD interviews went for the BS/MD program the weekend of February 24th and 25th. The decision letters will be sent March 26th and S is very nervous and excited. Good luck to all!

My sons letter (EA interview) came from the university he selected as his first choice. NEOUCOM's letter came later. No marking of acceptance on outside. It arrived the day after they said it would be mailed. Good luck!!

lots of clubs... will volunteer at a local hospital this summer

Leadership:

Reporter for HOSA next year
Board member of International club this year and VP next year

Please let me know if my situation is hopeless so I can switch gears

thanx

can someone please list all the colleges that offer a 6yr medical program?

I'd recommend taking the SAT/ACTagain if you have time. and take sat IIs

thank you... Will I be totally at a disadvantage if I don't take AP chem in high school?

You won't be at a complete disadvantage, but it will certainly help if you take the class (and get at least a B in it)

For NEUCOM, the best advantage of getting into the program is actually LIVING in Ohio. Apparently this year, one out-of-state applicant received an interview (someone told me that, so I'm not fully sure if that's true)

Try to get your combined M+CR SAT score greater or equal to 1450, or at the very least, 1400 to maximize your chances. Getting an ACT 33 and higher as well is also advantageous (if you want, you can do either or and not send your other score)

Volunteer a lot, but anything unique that you have access to (like research or something) that not every pre-med does (since ALL people applying for these programs volunteer in a hospital) will help you.

But as I said before, the most important point is that you have to be able to claim Ohio residence to greatly increase your chances of admission.

Stats, volunteering or research and good EC's get you the interview

Living in Ohio almost a must!

Do something unique that makes you stand out so they will remember you

i bet you RD applicants are a little nervous? the letters should be coming on wednesday! good luck! :-)

Son has patience, WE DO NOT...we have tried to learn...no success...we all have our fingers crossed!!!! Good luck to all! Post when you start receiving your letters.

weeeheeeeeeeeeeeeeee i got in and im out of state!!! lalallalalalalalalalalallalalalalalalal

Mail came yesterday but site was down. Good news, Son got in to first choice.......Akron. Wow - Good luck to all.

Congrats' nkg2323 - which school?

I got letters yesterday from Akron and Kent - alternates for both but top 25% of alternate list for Akron.

i got into kent my first choice, though i had a really tough time deciding between kent and akron. 2010Morn- what do you like best about akron?

Congrat's to your son 2010Mom

Congrat's to you nkg2323. My son was accepted EA for Akron. (which was his first choice) I think size played a role and location ( Akron is about 35 minutes from us)

congrats to all!

nkg2323-We liked Dr. Kory the BS/MD coordinator alot. Also, liked the campus, was pretty compact and liked the curriculum. Kent had a Chipotle and Akron did not, so that made the decision tougher. All in all, I think all three schools are great, and I don't think you can make a wrong choice. Plus, you got a seat in med school !!!!!
