No idea, but we all seem to have similar stats which is leaving me worried.
The application deadline isn’t until April 1st so we won’t be hearing back before then, but I think according to older forums they heard back around April 20th? I guess they release the acceptances in waves. I’m really scared because I have to submit a portfolio and I haven’t taken much related coursework while in college so mine isn’t the strongest…
Good luck everyone!!! I think @dogsrcool is right, last year’s thread they heard in waves (like end of April, early May, and a few early June IIRC)
Hey guys, I was accepted to Northeastern University in the spring and deferred my enrollment until the fall, so I will be attending in the fall. Good luck to everybody, you should all be hearing back in April!
What were your stats?
@financeguy29 Congrats!! btw do you know if NEU had any available transfer housing for the fall?
College GPA: 3.9
President’s List / Dean’s List
EC’s: President of an honors society, treasurer of student gov, head of student financial literacy committee, student leadership association, member of 3-4 various committees, on campus math tutor, part time job, etc.
I applied as a finance major, and had very strong grades and relevant coursework in math.
Didn’t send in my SAT’s. My high school grades were less than stellar although I had a unique and rather difficult experience… This was reflected in my essays, which I believe were the best I’ve ever written. I had very thoughtful letters of rec from finance and math faculty. I was in the top 1% of the top 1% of students in math at my school.
I’m probably forgetting a few things. I took one semester off before applying because I didn’t like the school I was at but couldn’t have gone anywhere else when I left so I’ve been working, waiting to go back for the Fall.
@90smix Thanks so much! They didn’t offer me on-campus housing for the spring and unfortunately, no I will hear about on-campus housing for the fall once you guys get your admissions decisions. But if accepted you can always utilize the off-campus housing services, most likely what I’ll be doing. Rooting for you guys!!
Does anyone know the exact transfer acceptance rate? I’ve seen a wide range of percents on different websites. I’ve seen an acceptance around 34% and also 68% for my own personal stats.
@kbot9929 Here are the transfer stats from a website that is now password protected for the past few years. The transfer acceptance rate has fallen from 45% to 26%.

good luck everyone! I hope some of us hear back in April, but I think last year the majority heard in May and early June
any idea when decisions will be coming out? I applied to media and screen studies.
I’m pretty sure it’s anywhere between mid-April to early June
How long did it take to receive your portals? I applied over a week ago and have yet to receive any email from northeastern
@College838 It took several weeks.
@College838 I submitted my app February 1st and got my portal email February 5th
@TomSrOfBoston I had a minor grammatical error in one of my essays. Would it be wise to send the admissions office another draft, or should I just leave it be? Also, do you think that it would significantly hurt my chances?
@kbot9929 I would say no. Doubt if that would be a problem.
Do you think I should call if I haven’t received my login yet? I only applied the other day cause I was waiting on a recommendation letter but I want to make sure they’ve received everything okay…
