Northeastern University Transfer Fall 2020

I sent NEU an email about it, we’ll see what they say

Don’t know if this will help anybody, but here are my stats. Accepted to the College of Sciences for Linguistics and English

City University in NYC, applied as a rising junior
GPA: 3.86, A’s in all my language centric classes (or any classes that weren’t math)
ACT: 31
HS GPA: 3.6, relatively low though I went to what was at the time the #1 HS in NYS.

Passed beginner Japanese and advanced Korean language tests/Received language certification
Slew of part time jobs during college, mainly tutoring jobs
Absolutely no ECs/club activity
Pretty good essays, everyone I heard from said my essays were solid
Not sure about LORs. One professor asked if she could write a LOR for me.
Think I got in because of my emphasis and my passion for language and just explaining how NEU was the perfect fit for me.

Hope this can give some clarity for those stressing over the college process, especially as this past month has not been a fun time for anyone.

does anyone know if there is a facebook group for neu fall 2020 transfers?

I’m also searching for 2020 fall transfer facebook group

Does anyone know if results will continue to come out over the weekend?

I forgot to include this:
I’m a freshman at American University and I got accepted into D’Amore- McKim School of Business. I have to submit a few more things to receive my financial aid package, but I love Northeastern’s program, so I am pretty sure I will attend! Has anyone created the groupme yet, and if you have, can I be added?

Accepted! For financial aid, the only thing I submitted was the FAFSA so I have submit my css and stuff. Do you guys think this would affect my financial aid package?

Made an FB group! It’s Northeastern Fall 2020 Transfers

Hi, does anyone see the transfer welcome day is Nov 25 in the portal?

For those accepted, how are you dealing with off campus housing? I don’t want to sign a lease with the possibility that fall semester may be online.

@waterx3turtles Well Northeastern just recently announced that they will be bringing back the undergraduate students in the fall, so I think we will probably have to sign a lease

Accepted w/ a $10k merit scholarship yesterday for Bio.
If you guys make a GroupMe, I’d love to be added to it!

I don’t know how I feel about a college making a definite decision about returning to campus… especially in a big city… without understanding the climate of the US and the condition of virus. Seems like they are making a decision too early and are putting their financial needs over the safety of the students. Do you think we could defer?

aww congratulations!!! may i ask you what your stats were?

@transfer0120 congratulations!!! may i ask what your stats were?

Major: Biology (Pre-med)

SAT: 1510

ECs: Have done research in a BioE lab for a year and a half
Lots of clinical volunteering, and shadowing
Mentor for underprivileged kids for a couple summers
Tutor for several programs at my college, for a year
Have done a fairly prestigious summer research program
A couple of leadership positions in clubs and whatnot

I applied on April 15th lol, so it was definitely a surprise hearing back in the first wave

How are you able to transfer as a rising senior?

@Yankeefan20 I’m a rising senior at my current school. However, I’m only allowed to transfer 80 units, so I would be a Junior at NEU.

Hi! I am wondering how you know which class to take at your community college for the summer. I want to take some but I am unsure of how to know if they will count for credit
