So the next wave is this Friday…? I really hope I hear back soon, I was rejected from upenn and this is my second top choice…has anyone ever been accepted with a 3.7 GPA? I feel like my chances are low…does anyone know the transfer rate?
Anyone from community college trying to transfer to NEU?
@koreanincali I’m transferring from community college have you gotten decisions yet?
@koreanincali @PixelTomato I am transferring from a community college! I have not heard anything back yet… Here are my stats if you would like to compare!
-2 years at community college: GPA is 3.77
-Work full time
-Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
-Participant in SocialSports coed soccer league
-2 very strong recommendations from an economics professor and business law professor.
-Setbacks: Poor transcript from previous college from five years ago, but went back to school and focused on my academics.
What are your stats like? I am not sure if coming from CC has a negative impact or not, but the transfer rate is around 50% and avg GPA for transfers is around 3.3 I believe.
I’m from a community college and got accepted to NEU @koreanincali
@nash17 you can find more in depth stuff about my stats on this link: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pennsylvania/298822-who-at-cc-is-applying-to-penn-p14.html (scroll all the way to the bottom (: )
Overall my GPA is 3.7 (not 3.69 sorry for the confusion)
I don’t think coming from a CC will negatively impact decisions! I think it just comes down to your abilities/recs/essays (those good 'ol college requirements)
Also, I think you have a good chance of getting in. Your GPA is near a 3.8 which is what I’ve been seeing around recently. But I have no clue honestly, I’m bad at chancing people because everyone seems more qualified than I am!
If you could chance me back too it’d be greatly appreciated >.<
@PixelTomato no I haven’t! how many credits do you have and what are your stats?
@Iapplyanywhere that’s awesome, congrats can i ask what your stats were and how many credits you had?
@Nash17 the transfer acceptance rate is 50% at NEU? I thought it was much lower, that’s awesome if it’s actually that high with a 3.3 GPA though haha
@koreanincali I posted my stats earlier in this post: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/20583475/#Comment_20583475
Also, I have completed 62 credits so far (not including the extra 13 credits I’m taking right now)
@koreanincali Transfer acceptance rate is 39%. 3.3 GPA is the minimum, not the average.

According to this website, the acceptance rate is 51% for transfer students.
@PixelTomato I just read your stats and I think you have nothing to worry about! Your GPA is solid, good SAT scores, and a really unique/interesting background… not to mention tons of extra curriculars. I would be very surprised if you were not accepted. Good luck and keep us posted!!
We were told that the average accepted transfer GPA was 3.6 during the transfers session at NEU and around 37-39% acceptance rate for fall 2016
@DoronG Thank you!
I’m trying to transfer from a community college also! After this semester is over, I will have 32 credits and as of right now I have a 4.0 gpa. 1960 on the SATs and a 4.29 weighted HS gpa (not very high yeah I know).
So far I’ve only been accepted to NYU, so let’s hope we hear back soon from NEU!!
good luck everyone
@nash17 Thank you so much for the encouragement! I just got rejected from Cornell and Penn today so I was really devastated. I hope the both of us make it in
@koreanincali I posted my stats earlier, scroll up! If you want we can chance each other! XD
@nash17 @koreanincali Northeastern’s transfer acceptance rate fluctuates between 30% and 40%. This year it was 39% I believe but 2 years ago, it was 31%.
does anyone know when we can expect another wave to come out? Is it possible one will come out this friday (5/5), or will we have to wait until next friday (5/12)?
@nash17 According to Northeastern’s website the transfer acceptance rate is 39%

Whatever website you are looking at shows stats from several years ago or is simply wrong.
