When were you all accepted and when did you receive your financial aid packages?

@Iapplyanywhere the tuition totals $49,299, but when they added room and board it’s $ 67,600 per year. The grant was of 53,300 and when they add both federal pell grant and federal SEOG grant, the total gift aid comes to 62,220. So my net cost is 5,380. This is the money I need to pay back!!! So I have to take one small loan of 3180 and they gave me federal work study of 2,200. Never expected this aid! so APPLY very early for both FAFSA and CSS profile and just be positive!!! Good lucks man!!

I am so nervous and upset because I applied on March 3rd and still haven’t heard anything. I applied to the College e of Engineering. I have a 3.61 GPA and have taken honors courses throughout my time at community college. I was the student senate vice president, president of the rotaract club, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, a student ambassador, and the secretary of the science club. I have hours and hours of community service and feel as though I communicated through my essay how motivated and passionate I am about becoming a woman in engineering. Northeastern is my #1 Choice but as of right now UMass Lowell is the only school that seems financially appealing. I just want Northeastern to get back to me, but I am scared that by now the best scholarships are given out.
Just received my decision- denied. Not too upset about it though because I’m going to BU and that was my top choice anyway.

hey guys I am really confused… northeastern is really low ranked but I got into ivys and denied here lol, it was safety but still? what the heck?

@TomSrOfBoston but the problem is, they don’t require additional essays, only commonapp essay. So they won’t know what you think about the school
@bobsmith5101 I don’t think Northeastern is “low-ranked”… NU is currently #39 Top National Universities and have earned a tremendous reputation within the last decade. Particularly, because of their experiential learning models; specifically, their co-op programs. I believe Northeastern University will continue to raise in the rankings and eventually become even more selective than what’s today… Good lucks!
