Northeastern University

Hey guys. This is my second post regarding Northeastern University. This time I'm worried about the money. I know how expensive Boston is. I live in Pennsylvania but since it's a private school, out of state costs shouldn't really have that great of an affect. I want to know how much money I might end up paying if I go. My parents are really strict about the money. So if someone has any idea as to how much I might end up paying according to my grades.

Here are my academics:
Classes:
Freshman and Sophomore year- Honors English (both years), Honors Earth and Space Science, Honors Chem, Biology, Spanish II, Honors Spanish III, Western Heritage, AP Human Geography, Honors Algebra II, Honors Pre Calculus and Trig

Junior Year- AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP US History, AP Economics, AP Psychology, IB English, Calculus

Senior Year- AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP Comparative Government, English, Honors Biochemistry, Honors Anatomy and Physiology

By the time I graduate I will have completed:
8 Science courses
2 History courses
3 Social Studies courses
4 English courses
2 Language courses
A total of 9 AP Classes and 1 IB.

My GPA is in percentage. My weighted average is a 99.8%. So just about a 4.0 GPA.
My rank is terrible. It's 125 out of 650 students.

My SAT scores:
Reading: 710
Writing: 730
Math: 730
Total: 2170

AP Exams:
AP Econ- 4
AP Chem- 5
AP Bio- 4
AP Psych- 5
AP Eng- 4
AP Stats- 4
AP Physics- 5

Extra things (clubs, volunteer, etc):
Mini THON committee member (School Cancer fundraiser)

CVAFRICA (Africa fundraiser)

Key Club
Volunteer at two hospitals
Volunteer at library

That's all I can think of for now...

Also, my parents' salary. My dad earns about $85,000 a year and my mom earns about $50, 00. I do not work. But I plan on applying for as many scholarships even if they're a small amount of money.

Oh, and I will be applying EARLY ACTION. And I'm planning on my essays being mind blowing.

Northeastern gives some full tuition merit scholarships, most notably to NMF. It is not the best place to look if you are after need-based aid, meeting “need” for only 40% of students.

Northeastern does give full tuition scholarships to NMFs but don’t know if that will be the case every year. They also hand out approx. 75 full tuition scholarships to the participants in their Scholars program. From what I recall, it was around 125 when this program began and they have been cutting back on the scholarships handed out each subsequent year. Some of their other scholarships require a community service component (approx. 100 hours of service each year). Northeastern is pricey without merit scholarships or aid.

You took the AP stats and physics tests, but haven’t taken the classes yet?
