Northeastern vs. Fordham

I have to make a down payment to one of the schools just in case I don't get accepted from the wait list of Emory or NYU. I'm just wondering which one is better. I know, based on rankings, that NEU has a better business school, but overall, Fordham as a university is ranked higher than NEU. I got about the same amount of money from each school in scholarships. I have until May 1 to make a decision, but I'm really not sure which school to choose. I'm looking to study business. I guess the deciding factor would most likely be their reputation in the job world, location, etc., but which one do you think is better for business and why?

(What I don't get about the BusinessWeek rankings is how Fordham dropped 15 spots over the course of one year.)

I posted this in the Fordham forum as well.

Here’s the reason why Fordham dropped 15 spots:

“Students at Fordham were not happy for various reasons (you can look at the comments on their profile to get a taste of this). They ranked 64th in overall student satisfaction. That’s what really brought them down. Also, Fordham did not do well in the Feeder School ranking (how many students go on to get MBAs at top B-schools). This only counts for 10% of the ranking, but it ends up meaning more than you would think.”

I got in Northeastern Business and Fordham CBA too. (+BU SMG) I decided on Fordham because I really prefer NY. And the Jesuit system is quite unique and I decided to give it a go. It really depends on your preference. Both are great schools and though Northeastern is higher in the rankings, please do not base your decisions on rankings alone. Good luck in choosing!

Thanks for the explanation. My dad really would rather have me attend Fordham than Northeastern because of its rep. I’m just really stuck on which business program will help me out in the long-run. I will most likely be attending graduate school for business after undergrad.
