Northeastern vs Rutgers Honors College-4 Days Left!!!

I am accepted to both northeastern and rutgers. I will be majoring in industrial engineering. I did not get any kind of scholarship from northeastern but i really like the atmosphere there. I really enjoyed the idea of studying in Boston. And I am also impressed by the co-op opportunities there. On the other hand I am accepted to Rutgers Honors College which is newly made. And only accepted 500 students. Also i got a scholarhsip and with that it costs the half of northeastern. I do not have any issues with the cost of both schools but i am thinking that honors collge and scholarship will be a better reference in my cv. But i do not know about the environment in rutgers. It is so big and has a too diverse environment.

Also I am considering stevens institute of technology which gave me a good amount of scholarship and i really LOVED the atmosphere there. But i am accepted to civil engineering, as there is no industrial engineering major.

And one more, worcester polytechnic institute again I got a good amount of merit scholarship, but worcester is in the middle of nowhere.

If you can give some tips, that would be great. I dont have much time left!!!

If you are in state then go to Rutgers. Yes it is a big, brash and bold school but you will settle in fine.

If money isn’t a part of the consideration, go NEU all the way. There’s no advantage to Rutgers that NEU doesn’t offer better or equally IMO. The only advantage of in state is price, which your post implies is not a factor here.

Honors and scholarships won’t be a big deal to many if any employers. I can’t imagine listing a scholarship after graduation, and honors may not even be noticed by some employers, and those that do still will care much more about the school name and more importantly your experience.

Background: CS student at NEU who looked at all four schools, eventually applying to NEU / WPI, being accepted to both.

Boston, co-op, and NEU are everything as advertised and more. I can’t imagine a better place personally, but fit is important. If you feel the most comfortable at NEU, go for it and don’t look back.
