Northeastern vs. Rutgers?

Hey guys, so I recently was admitted to both Northeastern University and Rutgers University, and I’m having a really hard time choosing between the two.

So for Northeastern, I love the campus and the city of Boston. I like how the campus is small enough for me to get around everywhere on foot and how it’s enclosed within the large city. I also love the co-op program that Northeastern has, and I think it will help me get valuable experience and opportunities that I won’t be able to get anywhere else. I was accepted to the N.U.in program, which I think is a great experience and opportunity. However, it’s a little more than 32k, and I can’t use any loans for this. Also, I’m not sure how comfortable I am with going abroad for my first semester. Northeastern is about 60k a year, and I didn’t get any financial aid or grants.

For Rutgers, I’ll be close to home, and I’ll only have to pay about 30k, which is half of what I’ll have to pay at Northeastern. However, I really dislike the campus because it’s not enclosed, and I’ll have to take the bus to go to all of my different classes. I don’t like how many students there are at Rutgers because it’s too much for me. However, I did get into the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program.

I guess the major issue is money. Also, in the future, I want to go to medical school and become a doctor. Please help me! Thanks!

It has to be your decision and how much money is a factor. If the thoughts of large loan sums make you sick, I would not go to Northeastern. Rutgers is a really great college and is definitely worth the money. However don’t go to Rutgers if you will be unhappy at all, or regretful. Has to be your decision.

Good luck
