Northeastern vs Wake Forest

Which school is better for business? Also in terms of social life and facilities?

I think Wake Forest is the stronger school academically.

Btw I’m Jewish so would I experience any discrimination at Wake?

Wake and anywhere else, I’m sorry to say. Wake has a rep for being among the most conservative schools, it’s true, but xenophobia is not limited to conservatives. Boston has certainly had its share of xenophobes despite its politics. Wake also has a rep for button-down oxford and skirts and dresses. As much as I like skirts, I don’t think that women should feel obliged to wear one. Northeastern is a very urban campus spread out across from the Museum of Fine Arts and the fens of Fenway Park fame. A more diverse crowd politically, economically, socially, and internationally than Wake. It’s not for everybody, and neither is Wake. Northeastern is strong for business and much STEM. I’m not sure but I have the impression Wake is no slouch in STEM but I don’t know about business.

What are the costs to you including loans for each school?

Thanks @jkeil911. The cost has no influence on my decision for either. I’m just not used to a southern community and am not true if I’ll fit at wake, especially with little diversity and so many of the students organized in fraternities.

I know Wake is better in terms of ranking but I’m not sure if I would fit there with such a community.

wake is a better school academically and all around. you would get the full college experience at wake.if you are not ready to work hard wake forest is not the school for you. as far as antisemitism schools like vassar, u of Michigan etc are really have issues with that. liberals tend to be less tolerant of lots of groups and jews are on the list of those made to feel uncomfortable. at wake forest, Vanderbilt etc…most people do not really care what your religion you are. the stereotypes of southern schools come from elites in the northeast boston/nyc etc…
that said northeastern actually stood up to one of the groups at it’s school that harassed jews (some of those antisemites sadly were born to jewish families)

Wake certainly has a Hillel. Why not reach out to the students there and talk to them? Your fear of Wake is somewhat irrational, and I’m saying this as someone who doesn’t particularly like Wake. I want you to make a good decision based on what you know. Get more info.

Thank you all. I know my fear is somewhat irrational; but I’m visiting at some point this month to make sure.
