Northgate Lake Apts.

S's moving off-campus to these apts. next year. Anyone have any HORRENDOUS experience with them, or should we expect the typical: loud, louder and loudest, which goes with every student complex.

thanks!

zebes, appreciating the almost $3,000 savings from being in The Towers

I have a friend whose son has lived in Northgate for two years (after living in Lake Claire for Freshman year). He was very happy there. The location is great. He liked that Northgate gave you a sticker for your parking, as opposed to some communities which have open parking so late returning residents have to park far away or illegally. The bedrooms are not large but they are adequate.
They have individual leases so your son is only legally responsible for his part of the rent.
My friend's son is moving out this summer though, to get a house with friends.

Yeah, I think it's going to be a good place for him. He's going in with his eyes and "ears" open to the idea that this is student housing, it'll probably be loud, you'll have some things that bug you ... but he's got a great roommate situation. They're all very compatable, and they all have the same work ethic, which can be half the battle right there. He's like, "if I don't like the shuttle across, I'll just walk. Not that much farther at all from where he is in Towers right now." Ah ... youth! My ancient bones don't want to walk 100 extra yards let alone an extra 1/4-1/2 mile. And, since he can work wherever he has access to his computer, he can hunker down at Burnett or in a library between classes. Although, the way he schedules his classes is usually fairly bunched together. Gotta love that priority registration.

Thanks, Seiclan!

Now, if we can just get DD's life figured out. Is it 2/13, yet? ;)

Zebes, I'm with you on the 2/13. D applied in early July, so this has been such a long wait. One more week! I think Mom is more anxious than D.
