Entering my snr. year, I see that I might be doing too much this summer.

Taking an online art course (maybe a biology one, also)
Working 40 hours a week at an engineering company (NG)
Two hours a day in the lab and who know how long outside the lab doing research with a lab at UCLA in neuropsychiatry (Intel Semis- here I come?)
Volunteer 7 hours a week at two different locations
Studying for SAT 2s (bio, math 2, chemistry, lit)
Studying for ACT
Getting my college plans together - getting the feel of essays
Doing the loads of summer work my school's AP classes have been kind enough to give me
Exercising 3 times a week (3 miles each)
Getting my permit/learning how to drive

I'm afraid I'm doing too much. Do you think I should slow it down? I really did not know I was going to be working 40 hrs a week until today. It's such a great opportunity - all of them are - that I don't want to give anything up...

What do you think? Should I drop something?

Where are you volunteering?

Wow...you'll be busy. But, I think, if you manage your time efficiently and don't procrastinate too much, you'll be fine. Also, you have all summer to split stuff up , so if you realize that you need to do everything at least you have a WHILE.

I will be volunteering in two places, actually. One is 3 hours a week at a local aquarium. I've been volunteering there for about two years now. Another is actually at a hospital that my neighbor works at. I feel a bit obligated to do that now since my neighbor was kind enough to get me the application. Both should be fun. I've been wanting to see how a hospital works and volunteer there for awhile, but the ones near my house have long waiting lists.

Anon: I feel a bit better now. I guess I can handle it. I just have to steer away from that terrible thing I tend to do...procrastinate :O as I have been warned.

My summer is actually a bit shorter. We just got off, and will be going back to school in mid-August. :/

I think I might read each of the 5-6 books twice...just so I get the hang of it more. The bus going to UCLA that I will be taking is about a 1/2 hour ride each way, so I'll probably have time for that. And then there's the weekends. Yay. Must study now! haha. No more daily CC chats.
