**Northwestern 2013 Transfer Thread**

@Hopefullybound

Did you get via email?

@Hopefullybound

Did you send in 2nd semester grades as part of the common app form or did you send an updated transcript via mail?

I called admission yesterday and they said the committee should be finishing up and possibly sending out decisions ‘soon.’

@Rock & Brender: Got the decision via e-mail, and I sent my updated transcript through mail (they said faxing it would be fine as well, as long as you do so officially and through your institution)

OMG reading your post is making me very hopeful! We have very similar stats and I was also rejected from NU in senior year. I applied to School of Communication and I really hope to get in. It is my dream school since…I don’t remember when haha.

Hey Hopefullybound, what college are you currently attending?

Another good news for the transfer applicants: they didn’t over-enroll for the freshmen class; sometime they have to adjust the target rate downward due to over-enrollment.

holy ****, accepted into engineering!!

@allenl513, what are your stats?

My HS stats were pretty good: 2200 SAT, 34 ACT, 800s on several SAT subjects, 4.70 GPA (weighted on a 4.8 scale)
My college stats were kind of mediocre: 3.47 GPA for first semester, 3.91 GPA second semester (even though they never saw this lol)
I did a lot of environmental activities (EcoReps, Engineers for a Sustainable World) because my intended major at NU was environmental engineering. I was also business manager for class council and my residential hall council as well and did a volunteering club here and there
Essay: This is what got me in I’m sure. I talked the changing environment and the need for more environmental engineers and tied in my activities in college, etc…if you nail the essay (which I didn’t first time around) it will help a lot!

Good luck everybody!

You guys don’t know how nervous/anxious I am about this decision…I am rejected from 2 schools out of 5 so far and I really don’t want to go back to my current school. The thing is I feel like I am going to get rejected from other schools including NU…My level of hope is hitting the ground. The wait is killing me.

Son still hasn’t heard, either. Very anxious because he couldn’t take remaining units needed spring qtr, and so has to take them early summer session. His impression was committee can’t wait for summer grades to make decision…thoughts, anyone?

Is this the official thread?

When is the date NU (roughly) designates for releasing decisions? I know some people have already been admitted so they must have begun. You guys think we will be hearing soon?

hopefully soon…NW is the last of the 11 I applied to to provide a decision…do they promise a decision by the 1st of June?

Hey guys, I sent in my HS report when NU only requires HS transcript. I had a bad relationship with the counselor, so HS report is only going to hurt my decision. Do you think they will disregard it? I am so anxious I can’t go to sleep.

I also applied to NU for a falll transfer. Turned in all parts of my application by mid-February, and that is also when I got the email from them saying my application was complete.

Still haven’t heard back either, and the wait is KILLING me! I’m wondering if they will even get back to me by June at this point. I’m really losing hope here… It’s hard to stay positive about it after having this much time to think on it.

I’m wondering if they review applications based on when they were completed?

Good luck to everyone!

@blueeeish In NU’s website it says, *The Common Application Secondary School Report completed by a high school counselor is not required. So don’t worry!

Well the wait is finally over. This morning I received my denial via email from NU. To be honest, I’m not completely surprised because of how I did in high school even though I considered my college stats would truly outweigh their decision. Anyway, I guess i’m glad because the long wait is finally over and all I ever wanted to know was if I got in or not. It looks like i’m headed to UIUC 100% now, which means it’s time to excited about that. Good luck to everyone else awaiting there decisions; I hope you all the very best.

@muaythaiapower, could you please share your stats?
