Hi! I was received admitted to NU under the Early Decision plan. I've been doing a lot of research of the school. Here's a couple of my most urgent questions.

BIO
I haven't had much biology in high school so I feel like I would need to start from the very basic to start. However, I don't want to take a year's course of bio 101-1,2,3. I am thinking of taking a rudimentary class over the summer and start the school year with may 210. Good idea?

ORGO
Ahhh the stories! :D Is it as hard as everyone say it is?? I will the AP credits to fulfill the Chem 101 courses, but would my life be hell if I start my freshmen year with Orgo and maybe Coddens? (Btw, should I take this class over the summer instead of bio??)

Double major
Is it really hard to double major in two different schools? I think for Weinberg and another school, I have to attend college for five years. But what about other colleges? I'm thinking of Bioengineering(McCormick), American Studies(WSAS), Gender Studies (WSAS), Dance (minor; Communication) or something in Social Policies.

Thank you so much!! I would really appreciate it if you can answer my questions!!!

The Bio offered over the summer is 110, good for pre-meds but not good enough to fulfill the bio major. The bio major requires Bio 210 which must be taken after or concurrently with (though not recommended) with Orgo 210. My suggestion would be to take orgo freshman year if you have the means and think your up to it, so that you don’t have to double up bio and orgo sophomore year (assuming you’re a bio major). Also, take orgo with Trzupek, or at the very least go to Trzupek’s lectures and take codden’s tests. You could take orgo over the summer (but it’s like 10K for all 3 quarters) or bio (if your not a bio major).

Double majors are pretty easy to do with careful planning.

I know you’re probably going to be mad that I’m not answering your question, but I’m very scared about my getting into NU next year (I’m a junior) can I please PM you some questions? I plan on applying next year ED.

Thank you so much mooble! Why do you say to take Trzupek? Would he be easier than Coddens? I know Coddens’ tests are really fair and you learn so much from him.

I am probably going to take the bio 110 class over the summer, but what’s the really difference btw that and the 210 class? Since I am going to be pre-med, I would still like to have a solid bio foundation.

Kathylis: Sure you can definitely ask me questions no prob!
