Does anyone have any information about THE Cherubs program from this past summer?
My D is interested in the 5 week Film and Video Production program for 2012.
For those who have participated was it helpful in honing skills for your high school senior year?
Did it help you think of Northwestern specifically as a school of choice?
If you have attended other programs what were the pro's and con's of this program compared to others you have attended.
Thanks for your input.

The MOST amazing experience of my life. I was a theater cherub this past summer. I am completely transformed as a senior physically and mentally. A change has definitely come over me. I am much more determined and focused. I know what I want and where I want to go not only for college, but what I want to do with my life. I think the Film experience is much different, and we were so busy that we didn’t have much time to interact with other cherubs from different divisions. Evanston is a great place to spend your summer, and the Northwestern campus is beautiful. HONESTLY, my biggest piece of advice to anyone, ever, is BE A CHERUB. And, yes, it definitely confirmed that I want to go to NU. Hope this helps!

I don’t know anyone who hasn’t thoroughly enjoyed Cherubs. And while being a Cherub is no guarantee of anything, NU loves its Cherubs.

D did the theater Cherubs and loved it! A friend did the Film/Video and loved it! D is a current Freshman at NU!! Loving it!!
Great way to help you get a sense of what you want to do!!

Tessamess - I’m an alum and my S is a freshman at NU. Even way back when in my day, we always talked about how NU loves its Cherubs. It’s a great program; my S did CTD, not Cherubs, but I wish he’d been a Cherub!

Not related to film, but D has a friend who did one of the top Music Theatre camps in the country with her last summer, then did Cherubs for Theatre this summer, and apparently Cherubs rocked his world and completely changed his mind about where he wants to go to school. Needless to say, he’s applying ED to NU this year!

Thanks everyone for responding.
It seems that there is no equal program to meet my D’s interests and from what it sounds well worth the effort. Does anyone have any information on the number of applicants and how competitive it is to get in?
