Northwestern Class of 2022 ED Discussion Thread

My older sister works at her university’s admissions office and she says that there is no meaning behind the blank side of the portal, as her school changes theirs regularly with no reason behind it

@dogsrmylife Really? So it’s a glitch? But why is it that there are some people who have a blank side and others don’t?

@fadingblue101 it’s not a glitch but the reasoning behind it most likely isn’t as serious as our decision. I don’t think that mine has ever had anything on the right side so it might just be different for different people for no specific reason

@dogsrmylife Well I’m just going to assume the worst :-S

@fadingblue101 We have all been doing a pretty good job of that. I think it comes with waiting for ED decisions

I think we’re just overconcerning about the portal page…

4 days

@TooomG Well I mean it is something to be concerned about. We don’t even know if it’s a glitch or not…

@TooomG I agree. We can’t really do anything about it, so whatever. I think it was just a glitch or a random update, something like that.

Do any of you all receive any email from NW after you submit your application? I mean the advertising emails.

hey I applied from bangalore too, what are your stats? @asakuru

Good luck all my friends…

Hey guys I’m a current NU student rn who applied ED. If you have any questions lmk! Also good luck to you all!

@Jtrynagraduate Sweet. I have a few questions. How were your stats (e.g. GPA, SAT, extracurriculars)? And does the right side being blank mean anything??

My right side just went blank today and my email response from NU, with regards to the release date, only said Mid December. Oh well

@fadingblue101

Stats
GPA: 4.2
ACT: 34
SAT II: Math 2 740 Chinese 770
6 AP Classes sophomore/junior year, Avg: 4
5 AP Classes senior year, Avg: 4

Extracurriculars
Founded my own tutoring company
Interned at a university lab
Advanced band all of hs, 1st chair, section leader, band council

Honestly, my stats are not that impressive.
It was mainly my essays that got me in.
Basically, NU wants unique people and wants every student to be distinct.

Not low-income, not first-gen college, public school educated, middle class from California

@fadingblue101

And no I don’t think the right being blank means anything.

Hey guys, did anyone apply for financial aid? I applied for financial aid and only sent my CSS and FAFSA, but I couldn’t track the status of my financial aid application, is that normal?

@Jtrynagraduate Hmmmmm. I just hope my essays are good :confused:

@Jtrynagraduate Just curious, what did you emphasize/talk about in your Why Northwestern statement?
