Northwestern Class of 2022 ED Discussion Thread

@senioritisis i think they will accept scores from the november test if you sent them already, but i dont think theyll accept past this point. im not positive about this though

does anyone know if northwestern has a quota for each school (i.e., they won’t accept more than one or two people per high school)?

last year from our school 7/31 got accepted but only 2/23 the year before that.

so could I still send my nov 4 sat scores in? I already sent in my 35 act, if I did not do as well on this sat would that count against me?

i don’t think theres any point in sending sat scores if you already sent in a 35 ACT especially since it’s after the deadline

ya I probably won’t send it, my act writing score just wasnt very good and I thought I did much better on the sat essay

Once the Nov 4 SAT scores come out next Friday I’m going to rush them so hopefully they get there in time! I already sent in my previous scores but I felt much better about this one.

Fellow ED applicant here. I’m curious – what made all of you fall in love with NU? For me, it was the culture of creativity, passion, and innovation that I felt on campus

@iamverystressed2000 Same here! I love the atmosphere of collaboration and how supportive the students/faculty are to each other- much less competitive and cut-throat than other schools I’m looking at. Everyone seems to be taking advantage of all of the opportunities around them and doing such interesting things! Also loved Evanston, they had their first snow yesterday!

Excited to join you all as an ED applicant to NW! I love the excellence in research and teaching, with top tier academics. I think their liberal arts are very innovative and offer cutting-edge classes and programs. I have always been intrigued by the journalism and communication schools. I think the campus is beautiful and the facilities are, too. Living in the Chicagoland area now, I think the area is beautiful and I hope to stay around.

i wonder if they’ve started reviewing our applications yet

I agree! @jayinspace @senioritisls @chicagocubs the students there are so enthusiastic, and they definitely seem more relaxed than at other top schools. I feel like NU gives such a great education but without the competitiveness, which is great haha

what are yall planning to major in? Chem and poli sci for me

I’m between the learning and organizational change major or social policy in SESP

physics and math

Applied to the School of Communication! Fingers crossed

Computer science!! But I’m also interested in their MMSS program.

Good luck to all the potential wild kittens here! I’m a freshman at NU and it’s such a great place to be. It actually wasn’t my ED school but I love NU more than my ED school now so even if you don’t get in, i promise it is not the end of the world. It will all work out at some point

has anyone heard about premed at NU? i feel like theres not so many discussions about it

@chicagocubs - Despite what you see on ESPN - it’s NU not NW. What’s important though, is that this will not derail your application. - Good Luck to all on the ED results!
