Northwestern, Cornell, JHU

Those are my reach schools. I posted a similar thread in another section of the forums, but in light of my new SAT scores i'll give this another go.
Here are my stats:

Male-Indian (American Born)
Premier Connecticut Public School (1600 kids counting all 4 grades)
Leaning towards Psych major (will do alot of exploring fields though)

GPA - 3.53 UW (senior year is looking ugly, like below 3.0)

Rank - We don't rank, but my counselor said definatley top 10% and maybe top 5% (my rank is HEAVILY weighted, since i have one of the toughest course selections in the school)

14 Honors/AP courses by graduation (only 5 of these are AP, but at my school honors and AP are treated exactly alike)

SAT I (first time) - 740 Math, 640 Reading, 660 (65/8) Writing = 2040
SAT I (second time)- 740 Math, 700 Reading, 740 (75/9) Writing = 2180

SAT IIs: 760 MathIIC, 720 US History, taking Chemisty next weekend (goal is 700s)

Other:

Varsity Tennis -10,11,12 (CT state champions 2004, runners-up 2005)

Debate Society -11,12 (No leadership)

Hindu Youth Group - pre9th, 9,10,11,12 (I AM part of the leadership in this group, i've done about 400 hours of community service through it)

Jazz Band - 9,10,11 (Shows i have at least some musical ability :P)

4 week summer volunteer at Stanford Hospital ( A combination of volunteering and shadowing)

NHS -12, National Spanish Honors Society -11

Martial Arts - 10, 11, 12 (3 times/week year round)

Concluding Remarks:
That's about it. People have been telling me my GPA isn't up to par. But keep in mind that once weighted it is comfortably inside the top 10% of my fairly competitive school. My counselor recommendation should help me alot. She said she'd emphasize my course difficulty, and even try to explain the C+ in algebra II on my transcript (thankfully the only C).

I don't have much of an idea of what my teacher recs will be like, but I doubt they'll hurt me.

I'm hoping my SAT scores will counterbalance my unweighted GPA, as it is above the 50th percentile of accepted students at all my reaches. Closer to 70th percentile at Cornell

My counselor also said my extracurriculars were "good," especially my hindu volunteering stuff.

However, i fear that she's being too generous in predicting my chances (She said i had a "very good" chance at JHU, whatever that means). I'm especially worried about how my mid-year report will impact my chances. I will probably have C's in 2 out of 5 classes :(.

Yea, i think that's it. These are all RD btw. Also, could you comment on my chances at Dartmouth and Carnegie Mellon.

<3 CC

heh, sitting here giving out candy and it occured to me that no one has replied. Any comments would be most appreciated.
