Has anyone here attended Northwestern CTD [Equinox, to be specific] before?
What did you think of it? Challenging? Fun? And was it easy to get in? Just out of curiosity.

Thanks in advance.

I was in Spectrum a couple years back and it was a decent program - both years I was there, I’d chosen crappy programs, but the people are pretty good.

It was challenging… well, this depends on your course selection, but AP courses and honors courses are definitely challenging and demanding. It could be fun… but I felt like it was pretty restricting because we weren’t really allowed to roam around TOO much. It’s easy to get in as long as you have decent grades and pay. =]

Thanks for the input! I think I’m going to apply.

is it very hard to get into, i applied to take precalculus honors. It sounds like a good combo of fun and work.

I’ve gone to CTD for the longest time, like, five years maybe? This year (rising junior) will be the first I’m not going (I need a change!). That being said, my CTD experience has been nothing short of fantastic and I’ve learned so much over the course of my time there. If anyone has any questions at all, feel free to PM me. I’ve done all three age groups of program and mainly took courses in the humanities and social sciences.

Well, I just completed my application, haha. I hope to hear from them soon I’m sooo looking forward to it now.

There is still space open in the CTD summer programs.

I’d like to mention, for any potential future applicants, that I attended and it was amazing. It was really challenging, with a ton of work (although this varied for different classes) but also a ton of fun.

hey! i realize that this thread is a little old, but has anyone here taken AP biology or a similar AP course through the summer equinox program? I am thinking of applying but unsure of the rigor of cramming an AP course into such a short time period. Is it worthwhile? Is it manageable? Can I get an A (considering that I am generally an A, A+ student)? thank you!
