NU is a great place to be so good luck next year!

But I hope you all do know the winters here are brutal.....
I'm not sure if I'll make it through winter quarter at this rate brrr.

Thanks, gd!

I've actually been living in the Chicago area for a while, so I know how cold it gets. But to those coming from out-of-state, brace yourselves! Remember... earmuffs are very important because of the windchill.

It really is, I'm from Evanston and I'm still not used to it. It snowed around five inches last night, yuck...

I just talked to housing about applying and they said even if you don't have your northwestern email yet send an email to housing@northwestern.edu and they will send you some link. It took me like five minutes to fill out. Just passing along the info.

We really all should do something, anyone worried about meeting people, email me. I'm so excited!!!

Yep, for sure. I'm really excited as well!

Hey you guys, I'm finally on the Northwestern network!

Whew. I guess mail takes longer to get out to the east coast than midwest.
I heard back today (Friday).
Believe me when I saw all of you guys getting the packages, I got really scared.
Anyway. Congrats to whomever got in, and regrets to everyone who unfortunately didn't.

hey all accepted students, I invite you to join "Northwestern University Transfers 2008" on Facebook!

The winters are brutal here, that wind just gets ya! Haha, I love it. And NU's on the lake, it's even worse. Gotta love that stinging cold!
I'm luck I survived driving through that snow last night!

Is it more competitive to apply as an economics major? What about as a sophmore?

I didn't apply to NU, but im wondering, is it even humanly possible to survive in 9 degree temperature? Here in the south, we are at 60 degrees and I have never experienced anything below 45.

What's bad is the wind in Chicago. I can usually stand the below-freezing temperatures, but the wind chill in unbearable. Just last night I dreaded having to walk to my car in the freezing wind and snow. But I do like the contrast in seasons that Chicago has to offer. I think I'd be bored if it was sunny and hot EVERYday. Plus we appreciate the warmer destinations much more.

Hey guys! I am planning to apply to Northwestern for fall 2008..Any pointers?

donjuan78,

I came from Hong Kong, which is warmer than the south this time of the year and I survived Chicago winter with no problem.
