Hi! I'm applying for theatre and hope to eventually study international studies or political science in addition to that.
I'm from rural NC, and a female.
My GPA is around 3.7, and I'm top 20 in a class of 400. Most recent ACT was a 31, hopefully rising. I've taken AP Stats, APUSH (4) and AP Lang (4).
I go to an online program at an extremely competitive math and science high school, as well as attend regular high school. My senior year course load is AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, AP Physics, H.Genetics, AP Euro, AP Gov, AP Bio, Theatre 3, AP Lit, AP World, and then a language or other elective.
My ECs are four years of drama, with leads, stage managing, and being a student leader. Four years of dance as a soloist, one year of flag line, two of winterguard, marshaling at my science and math school's graduation, babysitting for four years, and two of voice studies.
Essays will be good, mostly about theatre. I expect great teacher recs, and will be asking for one from my director who had me in class two semesters in 10th grade, has seen me after school in shows since 9nth, and who I went to Europe with this summer. The other will come from my APUSH teacher who I had from a full year (11). She loved me, and I pulled a 97 in her class. Are my chances okay? This is my absolute first choice school, and I hope to have an overnight visit in October. Thanks for input!

With your test scores now, I’d say it’s a low-mid reach. Once you retake the ACT (im assuming you’re gonna get around a 33 if you studied a lot) then you will have a very good chance (I’d say match-high match ED).

…bump…
