Northwestern ED more difficult than RD?

I'm a HS junior and as of right now, NU is my first choice (just got back from a visit). Absolutely loved the school and I would apply ED in a heartbeat, only I've heard that they are harder on their ED applicants than their RD applicants. Anyone know if this is true or not?

RU KIDDING?

There is not even a question in my mind that NU is much easier ED. They are much more forgiving. The acceptance rate is almost around 40-45 percent. RD this year was around 22 percent. Good luck.

2007 ED and RD numbers:

ED Apps: 1,302
ED Admits: 573
*ED Admit %: 44% *

RD Apps: 20,649
RD Admits: 4,852
RD Admit %: 23.5%

RD admit % is only going to go even lower next year with the recent increases. ED will probably dip a little but not too much, i think.

yeah, ED is easier, it shows absolute interest so there is no risk of accepting someone who might not come, they're willing to go lax on their requirements to get a confirmed member of the freshman class.

where did you get those admissions statistics by the way

ED is so much easier than RD because they know that you will come 100% if you get in

i got those numbers from a northwestern admissions article from the daily northwestern

Wow, that's a higher rate than Cornell's. HMM...
