Hey, how is Northwestern's engineering program? What about their pure sciences? Do you think that someone with a degree from NU could compare with someone with a degree from like Stanford, Berkeley, MIT, or the other tops for graduate school?

The ones you mentioned are the highest ranked schools in engineering. NU is lower ranked than those three in general. NU's engineering is still pretty strong though with 4 dept in the top 10 (mat sci, industrial engg/management science, civil, mechanical) and 3 in top 15 (biomed, chem, environmental) (US News ranking).

In the pure science, its chemistry is one of the best. one of the specialities, inorganic chem, is ranked 3rd by US News.

How aout NU's Computer Engineering and Electric Engineering?
I need to choose among NU, JHU, Carnegie Mellon, and Berkeley.
I love NU but its ranking is lower than the others.
I hear ungrad ranking doesn't really matter but it still bothers me.
