NorthWestern Essay question

Hi people, I am an NW aspirant applying regular decision.

I wanted to know how much informal could we be in our essay. I mean, I know that colleges look for innovation in essays, I think that colleges would be sure bored of same old stuff from students -:

"NW is so good..., Its my dream university as blah blah, It has so many researches....
I would love to be a part of it..blah blah."

So like, In my essay, i have been a little informal. Would admission committee see it as being too informal and easy going and thus reject me?? Is it a mistake to do so??

My essay is not serious at all times, it becomes so after i start talking about my particular school (McCormick) and how i would take advantages from the opportunities available there, Which is like the 3rd para.

And please don't tell me to be too informal as its very vague (and the answer i got from asking a couple of people)

bump bump… please reply fast, i need to apply.
