…i guess all we could do now is…wait…Thank goodness my second semester grades are good. lol.

has anyone called the admissions office by any chance? or get a reply? it’s around time to start replying to other colleges…

got mine: rejection

stats:

3.9 from community college
3.77 From Bradley University

70 semester hours

pretty good essay

good extracurricular activities

whatever, I don’t think I could afford it anyways

Sorry to hear they’re missing out on a great candidate. Did you hear by email or snail mail?

I live 15 minutes away so I’m sure it was snail mail

oh, and when i got the rejection letters they said that over 1000 applicants applied for transfers and they only take like 50 so good luck to everyone!

I called this morning and they said mine is still under review…such a painful wait!

dlbecker: Could you post the date of the postmark on your decision letter?

Thx!

And I wish you a wonderful college experience at another prestigious institution~

dlbecker,
Did it say on the letter that they will only take around 50?

Best of luck on your future endeavors!

^I don’t remember… on the back it said this was the year they had the most applicants and yata yata yata… To be honest, I threw mine away!

Anyways, my choices now are University of ARizona, and University of Wisconsin whitewater. I’m probably going to University of wisconsin whitewater, so i can play tennis there. I don’t care about prestige. I liked U of C and Northwestern because they’re really close and the student body is somewhat quirky like yours truly. Best of luck to all of you!

WOW. I didn’t realize that Northwestern transfer admission has gotten this competitive…i’m not having a good feeling about this…

dlbecker–
sorry about your rejection, but wait–they didn’t actually say they were taking 50/1000 applicants?

Because for a moment there I had competely given up hope. To be honest that number rings false since Northwestern is known for being pretty open to transfers.

Orz…

I don’t remember, I thought they did. I know for sure they said they had well over a record number this year of a thousand

50/1000 has to be false, I’d think. Are you sure it wasn’t more like 150/1000? 5% is a huge drop from last year’s rate, which was 17%, I think (I’m not sure if this is correct).

Also, is anyone applying to McCormick for engineering?

such a painful wait…ORZ…hope I can get in…

ahahahah dlbecker must be getting his numbers mixed up out of sheer frustration you dont drop to 5 percent from stats like these in 2008

Northwestern (33.23%):
Total number of transfer students who applied: 942
Total number of transfer students who were admitted: 313

^oh, you are right… it was out of sheer frustration. You know me so well you prick

I think we should give DL a little courtesy. No reason to jump on him. He made his point based on his info and sometimes it is not necessary to be so prompt with a reply. Remember that this was a prospective applicant and a little consideration is warranted. Sometimes on these forums folks are so quick to reply and rebut information and they loose sight of being considerate to the person they are responding to.
