I think the take-home message here is don’t post a statistic that’s going to freak a bunch of people out unless you’re 100% positive it’s true.

But the point’s been established and we should leave dlbecker alone from now on

“… This year, approximately 1300 students applied for a small number of places in our transfer class. …” - Statement from the Dean.

NU is lagging and im about to say yes to georgetown lol. Good luck to the rest of you!

Son rec’d the thin envelope today Good Luck to all who are still awaiting their acceptance!!!

Oh, and yes, the letter said more than 1,300 applicants this year – record number. Oh well!

@myoneandonly

I’m sorry to hear that your son was rejected. Do you happen to know if the letter said how many spots were available for transfers? Also, when did he submit his application?

I still haven’t gotten anything yet…I’m really not having a good feeling. How many of you guys has gotten the decisions? and when did you submit your applications?

Me too, no decision yet. I called yesterday and was told nothing will be released on the phone, even whether there is a decision…They must have a thousand people call in everyday…%>_<%

Son sent in app. last week of April (although all other supporting docs were in by March). Just re-read letter, it said that “due to the small size of the number of transfer students to whom we were able to extend offers acceptance . . . and the more than 1,300 applications . . .”

I wish happiness and thick packages to all still awaiting a decision from NU :)

In the interest of full-disclosure, NU was kind of a longshot for son – 1300 SAT (700M/600V), and a 3.6 at Boston University. So all of you kids who I know are super students, keep your hopes up! And if NU doesn’t pan-out, I’m sure you’ll all have successful lives, wherever your next academic stop takes you :)

Yeah I’m still waiting too on a decision from WCAS… The latest we’ll receive our decisions by is June 30, right?

This is getting slightly ridiculous…I sent in a deposit for Barnard earlier this week, but I’d still like to know the decision that resulted from the $65 I sent to NU. Definitely not considering them unless I’m full-out accepted, though. I spent enough time waiting around on their waitlist last year.

I am really afraid whether the wait worth the result.

If last year is any indication, transfer applicants will begin receiving decisions by mid-June and Northwestern may take as long as until the end of July. But, I’ll take their word for it when they say the latest will be the end of June. For the record, my stats aren’t amazing; though, I hope they see exactly how much I want to go there. It was the only school I applied to, and that’s despite how much I hate it here.

^ indeed. from last year’s post, many started to receive their decision around mid-June and it went on until the first week of July.
Hopefully, I’ll be hearing back from them soon…I’m still hesitant about whether to call them or not.

anyone heard anything these few days? I really want to call but am almost sure that they won’t give out anything…

I called today and found a message for all us transfer applicants before they direct you to an admission officer. When you call there is a message first that basically says- all transfer applicants please do not call us anymore haha.
Anyway, we’ll all hear before the end of june and they want our last semester grades.

Sooo…just got an e-mail about housing. I’m taking that as a good sign that good news is on its way! Did anyone else get that?

Too bad I’ve already sent $400 to another school…but I’m kind of excited about being three for three right now!
