could be the number of units completed, are those semester or quarter units? because if theyre semester, its possible they didnt want to admit someone with over 60 units (90 quarter units)

I heard that it is very difficult to get into the school of communications as a transfer (from the NU tour guides who went there) student. I think she also said it is tough to transfer into those programs. Best of luck at UCLA and USC enjoy the SUNSHINE! hahaha. Those are great schools for communications and in general.

^ that doesn’t sound good D:

NU is so slow on transfer process. I already decided to go to Cornell for engineering.
Good luck for all NU applicants!!

Any prospective WCAS transfers thinking of withdrawing their apps ;)

ajtan, you should withdraw your app, lol, so i might hve a better chance ;)

@monacle
Already sent the email to NU to withdraw app. The waiting is just killing me.

@ajtan1990: I’ve just been accepted to Cornell for engineering too. I haven’t withdrawn my app to see who gives me better financial aid. But the wait is pretty ridiculous!

@ajtan1990 Have a fantastic time at Cornell. I have a couple friends in their engineering program and it’s intense but it sounds like they are having a great time out there.

lol, you guys should withdraw for the sake of borderline candidates like me
haha… jk. i’m sure it’ll work out for all of us :-]

@engineer2014
Since I am an INTL applicant, neither NU nor Cornell will offer acceptable financial aid, I just go with Cornell.

Thx! I guess I will just have to survive the terrible winter in Ithaca… Purdue’s winter is already like a hell, now here comes Ithaca, lol

I hope I get in but I won’t be upset if I don’t. The difference between Vandy and NU is negligible (#17 and #12 ranked schools on USNews). However, NU’s econ department is superior, NU is a 15 minute drive from my home, and gets more IB on-campus recruiting than Vandy does.

noice, same reasons for wanting to transfer (for i-banking)

hopefully we get in!

isthat all you had in mind for career? what about hf, pe, vc?

is anyone transferring in going to double major? i hear around 80% of students at NU have a minor or double major, i was considering doing an engineering and econ double major if i get into mccormick

@6mt - I’d like to launch my career in IB but hf and pe would be ideal sometime down the line.

NU did talk up the ease of double majoring because of the quarter system. Depends on the majors/minors I’m sure

it’s almost june… im too anxious

Did they ever tell us when we would find out for sure? Most schools have a reply deadline, but I can’t remember, or find, NU’s.

Nope, NU only provides the vague statement, “transfer admission decisions are made on a rolling basis after the application deadline has passed.”
It seems last year that many people began receiving acceptances the second week of June. I’m hoping, however, that we might get lucky this year.

aren’t most school deposit deadlines due before june? does northwestern assume we are only waiting for them? i mean, i am, but surely all off us aren’t.
