Northwestern Fall 2011 Transfer Thread

<p>May I ask what your classes were this past semester? My stats are very similar to yours, but I’m still waiting for a response from them.</p>

<p>Linear algebra (got A+), quantum mechanics I, partial differential equations, electronics, and math method for physics (the normal workload at myschool is 4 classes, so i was overloading last semester)</p>

<p>Did anyone get a credit evaluation? I’m on the quarter system so I just sent my final transcript in a few weeks ago. When should we expect some information on what classes are going to transfer?</p>

3.7 UW/ 4.1 W
4 year varsity team member in two sports, 3 year team captain in my primary sport, 2 x all state, represented the junior level national team in international competition during HS. Varsity debate, Teen court, Hospital volunteering (ER).
SAT- 1430(760 CR/670 M)
SAT II- N/A
AP: 2 5s, and like 6 4s? or something like that.</p>

<p>University: Tier 1 state school
4.0 with 31 credits taken (including several upper division courses)
6 months researching in a biomedical research lab
Competed on NCAA DI national championship team in my sport (not Football or Basketball, sorry, I’m lame)</p>

<p>Spent a lot of time on the essays and they were very well written. </p>

<p>Letter of Rec from the head of our Phil. department who taught one of my upper division classes.</p>

Significant ECs:Not very involved in college (essays explain why), but in HS I was Student Council VP, ran a fair trade/ labor rights awareness group, 200+ community service hours with various agencies
Hooks: Black female, accepted last year
Essays: Meh, I thought they were pretty average but I guess they liked something about them</p>

Involved in orchestra and other musical activities, although no sports. Good recs, great essays (at least, I think so).</p>

<p>Fully intend to attend, but have some minor obstacles to clear before I can say with certainty.</p>
