Do you live in the States?

@ everyone
has anyone from outside the states received letter from NU yet?

I am officially enrolling! Who else is going? Please post your full name in order to keep intouch through facebook or such… Im excited to meet all the new wildcat transfers!

I am officially enrolling as well! I also decided to reside on campus at least during the first year there.

@xxduplinsxx and other transfers

We could share facebook links via PMs, yes?

Yeah that sounds perfect.

I paid my housing deposit 2 days ago. Does anyone know when they send the link to choose housing? Also, where have you guys chosen to live?

I’m paying my deposit tomorrow. Hope to see you all this fall at orientation.

Still trying to figure out housing.

I got an email with the housing link about two weeks ago. Here it is if you want to try it:

https://rms.housing.northwestern.edu

I put Willard and Bobb 1-2 on my list - I think transfers are the bottom priority for housing, though, so I’m trying not to get my hopes up.

Anyone else get their housing contract today? I’m trying to decipher my assignment. It says “CCI” on the contract, but the move-in site lists my assignment as “Allison.”

Also, as it says I have a double, where would I look to find my roommate assignment?

Wow…you guys make me look really bad. Sigh, oh well here I go…

High School:
30 on the ACT
Top 10% of my class (out of 600 students)
Weighted 4.1
unweighted 3.4
Lots of etc’s, volunteering, debate team, sports, etc

University: University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana
I’m a “freshman” but I fall into the Sophomore credit hour range
Major: Molecular and Cellular Biology

sigh…now here is the sucky part…

At the rate i’m going I will get a 3.3 gap; two B-'s and three A+'s. Its only my first semester. I had a REALLY rough transition into college. Is all hope lost?

Hi everyone, I’m applying to northwestern transfer too next fall.

This is my stats
3.67 GPA
4 years of Student Gov’t (HS & JC)
Active in political campus events (March in March, etc)
Former head of student’s businesses in Foothill
Working as student accountant for approx. 12hours each week
SAT low 2100
Honors Scholar
more than 200 hours of volunteer inside & outside of campus

I’m international, and planning to major in economics.

Do you think I have a chance to get in? thanks

I am having thoughts about about transferring to NU after my first year at UIUC and I was wondering if I should wait or not.

Also, along with the my current college transcript, EC’s, and letter of recommendation, do I need to submit my HS scores as well? (including SAT I and II)

Lastly what is the transfer acceptance rate?

hi guys, i’m considering applying to Northwestern for fall 2012 as a sophomore.
my chances are pretty slim.
HS GPA: 3.1
i had personal reasons, and received 90+ averages for the last three terms, but i dont think that will make up for my poor grades in previous terms.
Only 1 AP, because my grades didnt allow me to take AP courses (competitive hs)
low SAT: 1950

attending a state university.
first semester GPA: 3.56 (17 credits)
definitely need to improve next semester.

i’m going to be realistic about this, so i will take any harsh comments about my chances.
if i fail to get in for fall 2012, i’m going to try for spring 2012.
however,i want to improve my chances as much as possible. should i retake my SATs?

I got in to NU as a transfer with both a lower high school and college GPA than you (and no APs) so it is possible! I didn’t take the SAT so I’m not sure what your score means but I got a 28 on my ACT which is just decent. Also, NU has a rule that you have to wait an entire year before you re-apply, so you will have to wait to apply for fall 2013 if you don’t get in for fall 2012. Applying for spring isn’t a good idea anyway because they hardly let any transfers in at that time. Good luck!

Closing this thread because it is for fall 2011. Please start a new thread for NU 2012 if you want to continue the discussion.
