Northwestern Fall 2011 Transfer Thread

Rather than posting separate transfer-related threads, I figured we can just use this one for the prospective transfer students.

University honors accounting program

Volunteer work: Arizona Attorney General's Office, Inspiration Corporation (Chicago)

Clubs/Organizations: Frosh and JV football, Member of Assyrian-Chaldean-Syriac Student Movement (Chicago), school's honors student government, PricewaterhouseCoopers honors program, accounting club, and the Midwestern association of Hispanic accountants (I'm not Hispanic but the club doesn't require one to be)

Will be applying to Weinberg (not too fond of accounting anymore and am looking to double major in econ/math or English if accepted into WCAS).

Does NU’s transfer system give transfers a decision sooner, the sooner they apply?

looking forward to connect with you guys. i also second this question ^.

Hey guys, I just got an account. I applied to 3 schools this year: UChicago, Macalester, and of course, NU. I got rejected by U of C (10% acceptance rate) but accepted into Mac (16% acceptance rate). Just wanted to join this thread so we could discuss the NU transfer.

Cheers!

It doesn’t appear to be so. I think they do it on a rolling basis, but not by application date.

I was denied by U of C as well, this year. I heard they accepted a seriously low percentage of freshman applications. There must have been increased demand this year.

Hey guys, I applied (and got in to Emory University but crappy financial aid) and also NU. I applied near the NU deadline and they are still reviewing my application. I originally applied ED to NU and got deferred last year so if I get in transfer then I’ll have a decision to make!

I’ve been accepted to NU as a sophomore transfer and am probably going to attend. Anyone else? Where are you trying to live?

That is the more active thread ^

Hi my son is a freshman at a small liberal arts college (a good one); he was waitlisted at Northwestern and is thinking of trying to transfer in as a sophomore. Since you did so successfully, any advice?

I am having thoughts about about transferring to NU after my first year at UIUC and I was wondering if I should wait or not.

Also, along with the my current college transcript, EC’s, and letter of recommendation, do I need to submit my HS scores as well? (including SAT I and II)

Lastly what is the transfer acceptance rate?
