Northwestern Fall 2021 Transfer

that’s what I wonder too… NU was the only school that I applied to that asked for SAT/ACT. And my SAT’s weren’t good hahah

same here rip i’ll be a rising junior and i took my SAT in 2017

same same!

Same i took it in 2018 and have a ■■■■■■ score bc i didnt take life seriously

I don’t think SAT scores really matter much anymore for top tiers since it is a holistic process. My child scored over 1500 but that did not mean much.

I think it is if you score high, that doesn’t give you an edge because everyone score high. However, if you score low, you may be disadvantaged.

Or at an advantage. I was looking at the stats from class of 2024 and 2025. Students with scores in 1400s got in. Again holistic approach.

1440 here. Not great, but I’d assume that it wouldn’t put me at risk of getting rejected solely on my SAT score

I am at 1370, but excellent ECs so hopefully they carry me somewhere :yum:. ready to catch that email during the first wave.

I don’t think they got in because they are advantaged by their scores. Instead, they probably head stellar essays, extracurricular involvements, life experiences, or recommendation letters. And their scores aren’t that low either. Honestly a scorer of 1450 is not academically less in any way than a 1550 scorer. I took my SAT in 11th grade of high school. The first time I took it in March and got a 1440. The second time I took it in May and got a 1540. All I did was practicing more during the one month and a half, but I don’t think my academic capability advanced a whole 7% during that time.

is this a likely letter?

Not a likely letter. It looks like others, from various posts above, received the same communication.

My Child did not get anything. I hope it does not mean an automatic rejection.

I sure hope it’s not. However, I have a bad feeling that it could be one of those things the AO did to “accidentally” hint at the acceptance of a student. Or, I could just be paranoid about myself.

I guess Northwestern is the only place I’m really holding out hope for, as it the only place I’m applying to that has a “reasonable” acceptance rate for transfers.

We will just have to see. Will be interesting if those people get in or not

I mean they just updated my checklist last week… guess I will just have to keep waiting

My child did get this over a month ago. Anyone else got this?

I hope this finds each of you safe and healthy. The snow is finally starting to melt here in Evanston and springtime is just around the corner, just like the transfer deadline. At this point, you’ve probably familiarized yourself with our [application requirements]. Perhaps you’ve even submitted your application and are eagerly awaiting your decision. We will start reviewing applications after March 15th.

If you’re still deciding if Northwestern is right for you, we wanted to highlight a few of our transfer students’ thoughts on their own transfer experiences. They’ve been where you are right now and can provide some great insight. If you’ve had the chance to watch our [Transfer Student Panel] on YouTube, the names of the students might be familiar.

I think this reads like an advertising email. I got it too!
