Northwestern Fall Transfer 2020

My transcripts arrived at Northwestern on March 16th. They are still not marked as received. Does anybody else have this issue too?

@mexboy yea i have the same issue. i emailed and they said they haven’t downloaded them yet

Last year the first round comes out on April 3rd with mostly rejections… not sure if things stay the same this year

@mexboy @jazziscool me too, I have the same issue with some of my other schools like NYU and Barnard. I sent my transcripts a very long time ago (late Jan/early Feb), but neither my HS or college transcripts show up as received on the portal.

@westvillagelover @mexboy @jazziscool I guess it just just takes them longer to process everything. I submitted my high school transcripts over a month ago, and it finally mark as received today on my application portal. Maybe give it another week, if still is missing then contact the admissions directly. By the way, not sure if you guys know this but I think is the best to submit everything electronically (if you guys need to submit any further documents) since many of them are working from home

Looking back on old transfer threads, I feel like everyone had SAT scores in the 1500s. Do you guys think a 1480 would hold me back? (Took SAT only once due to health issues)

did anyone have another item on their checklist appear? I only had ALL college transcripts and when I checked again today, there’s another item named *** University (the university I attend rn) Transcript. Not sure if I should send my transcripts again

Hey y’all! I transferred to NU in fall 2018 (current junior). Happy to address any questions you have about the university, and wishing you all the best of luck! Go cats!

I posted this but no one was responding so I figured I would post it here, lol.

Hey guys! I was wondering what you guys think my chances of getting accepted as a transfer at Northwestern University are. I am at California Community College atm, and have a secure place at UC Davis, I applied to Northwestern on a whim more so because I have legacy, and I mean why not?
I have a 3.5 GPA, which I know is low for Northwestern, however they do say on their website that they want transfers with B averages. Take what that what you will. I applied as an English major, and at my community college I have won a Creative Writing Contest, worked as a TA in lower level English classes, worked as a tutor working with ELL students and native students, worked as an intern in a literary magazine, studied abroad in Peru while taking a Creative Writing class, and this summer I will be leading my own classroom teaching middle schools and younger debate.
Also- before I entered community college I went to another, 4 year first, however, two months into my freshman year I had a pretty intense manic episode and had to go home and be hospitalized for bipolar disorder for four months. I also have epilepsy, and talk about having both diseases in my essay.
I am also legacy.

Also, the reason your transcripts are not showing up as received is because you have to send your transcripts in through the common app. Specifically “Common App for Transfer”. Get on this ASAP. You either have to send them electronically through Parchment or Official Student Credentials (my community college was not on either), or send them via mail. However, because of Covid-19, and the closure of the schools you will not be able to do this. You will have to email the Common App, buy your transcripts again, and they will give you a woman’s email to send your transcripts electronically. Send your transcripts to you, download them via pdf, and send them to the woman. Do this ASAP.

@kcnunn what if we applied thru the coalition app? :frowning:

hello everyone!

THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM FOR ME

im at a california cc. 3.75 gpa - 7 associate degrees under two years. low income, first gen, asian female studying business.

Hi there! Just curious when we can get the admission result? I saw that NW has a rolling admission basis.

I have some questions, but I’m new to this and don’t know how to PM. Could you please contact me? I have a lot of questions!!

Does anyone know if decisions will be delayed this year due to COVID-19? Has anyone received a decision yet? If so what school?

@swimgirl838 They have a history of starting to release decisions either on the first or second Wednesday of April (first wave is typically rejection-heavy), and I’ve read they still plan on mid-April as a starting point.

We can start a discord to talk about the process.

how long did it take for people to get their portals?

@azurepurple my portal was made 2 days after I submitted my application

How long do you guys think is a good amount of time to wait to call about something missing on the checklist? I know they say there may be a one to two week delay but I applied on March 12th and my college report still says awaiting. Not sure if I should call them or not.
