Does anyone know if the number of transfer applicants will also be lower this year? I get that they might have more open spots to fill from the pool of transfer students because of COVID-19, but what about the actual size of the transfer pool?
did yall send mid-term report in applicant status portal?
@IWantTransfer20 no because I think they waived the mid-term report due to schools being shut down.
@IWantTransfer20 did you?
y’all think decisions coming in this Wednesday?
@boomeranggecko I just uploaded this morning
I applied last friday (deadline was extended) and still haven’t received an email with a link to my portal. Do you think it is because I sent it during the weekend? How long did it take for you guys to receive an email saying they got your application? I applied through The Common App.
@colb1234567 it took me few days. I would wait until Wednesday and if you still do not receive an email, I would then contact them.
How do you upload it? I haven’t seen a tab or option in the portal that says midterm report or curriculum report
@jasonyfgong I uploaded under addition applicant info. I’m not sure if that’s the right place but I didn’t think it would hurt showing my mid-term grade anyways.
I called in, and Northwestern does not require midterm reports.
@tomtransfer1 thanks for doing that!
Does anyone know how the latest credits will transfer? My school is S/NC (satisfactory/no credit) and hopefully this won’t screw me over ahhhhhhh
@porouscriminal schools don’t don’t usually like to accept students that rejected their offer of acceptance in the past. Your best bet is probably to rescind your application this year and then just apply next year if you are worried about not being able to pay for next year’s tuition.
Does anyone know what the average GPA of admitted transfer students at NU is? I can’t seem to find that information anywhere. Also is the acceptance rate any different for sophomores and juniors?
@boomeranggecko I couldn’t find any average GPA info on their website either. From looking at past threads, my sense was that they will admit people with “lower” GPAs (in the 3.6/3.7 range). I remember seeing somewhere on CC that they seem to admit more sophomores overall, but I don’t think your chances as a junior applicant are significantly lower.
Does anyone think they’ll come today?
For some reason, it still feels too early. I don’t feel like I waited long enough for this decision. Lol. So I don’t think it will come today (just an intuition and have had many wrong intuitions throughout my life).
Based on the trend of past years, though, I want to say the first wave will be coming today. I think in 2018 it was April 8th and 2019 is was April 3rd. Usually the first or second wednesday of the month. So all the checkboxes are being hit!
based on the past 5 years, 4/5 years have released decisions on the first or second Wednesday of April. The last time it wasn’t was in 2015, which was released on the third Wednesday. But there is coronavirus going on currently so who knows.
Does anyone have informed delivery? Not sure if they send stuff in the mail the same day as decisions are released.
