For those still waiting, hang on. Acceptances were handed out until early June last year. For those rejected, I’m really sorry. I got accepted by Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and UMich but was rejected by Cornell. Admissions are a total crap-shoot at this level. Getting rejected from a school does not invalidate your achievements.
All in all, it’s been a ride, guys. I started this process almost a year ago now and looking back on it I’m so happy that I did. I’m planning on accepting my offer and am looking forward to seeing you all in the Fall!
@BpMcB Omg no way! I was accepted and denied from the same schools ( + denied from Upenn ) And I think I’m choosing Northwestern too! See you in the fall
Is there a group chat or Facebook group or something for accepted transfers?
Is there anyone else who hasn’t heard anything? I’m still waiting
The facebook group is called Northwestern University Transfers 2020 @bossop
I’ve been reading this forum for a while and decided to make an account. I haven’t heard back yet either @calixbeach and my friend who also applied hasn’t heard anything either. I guess we’re just going to have to wait, which sucks but what can you do
Anyone know if accepted students get anything from Northwestern in the mail? I was accepted weeks ago and haven’t received anything in the mail yet. Or do we have to commit to receive mail or packages?
@ivysky Congrats on all your acceptances! By any chance would you be willing to share your stats/hooks/ecs for the sake of prospective transfers for future cycles?
My stats are listed above. As for a hook, I didn’t do so hot in high school but ended up getting a 4.0 my junior and senior years despite taking quite a few AP courses. Then I continued to get a 4.0 and get more involved and made my whole application into an upward trend story.
Sidenote: is there a thread/group for accepted transfer students?
@ivysky nope. I emailed and they said they’ll try to mail the packages in the summer.
Hi everyone, I am a student currently at WUSTL who is looking to transfer into NU for the fall of 2021 as a junior. I wanted to know if anyone might be willing to share what essays they had to write for the application? I know there is a ‘why transfer’ essay, but is there a supplemental essay as well?
