<p>My daughter was thinking about transferring to Northwestern, so I did a little research about their financial aid and discovered something that would definitely be a deal-breaker if she were admitted.</p>
<p>Apparently, Northwestern does not provide need-based school grants or scholarships to transfer or adult students in their first year there. The only aid transfers can get for the first year is federal aid, loans, and/or outside scholarships.</p>
<p>With tuition + room and board at nearly 40K, that puts the school way beyond our means. So I thought I'd pass this info on in case it might affect someone else's decision to apply.</p>
