Northwestern for winter quarter

Hey,

I'm a freshman at UW-Madison and I've been wanting to transfer to Northwestern for a while. Since my HS record isn't so great, I decided to wait to apply for winter quarter (second quarter sophmore year). I was wonderifing if you guys think I stand a chance, and if you guys have any suggestions for coursework this fall. I haven't taken language yet here (though I took a lot of Italian in HS) and I'm guessing that it would be a good idea to add some variety to my transcript. I've taken mostly Psych, History, and Comp Lit classes so far. And is there any difference in difficulty between Fall and Winter tranfer admission?

HS:
GPA (unweighted)--2.9; weighted--3.8
ACT: 34 (with a ****ty writing section that northwestern unfortunately already has)
AP: BC Calc-5; Microecon-5; Chem-4; English Lit-4; English Lang-4; Macroecon-4; US History (Jr. Year)-3

UGrad:
3.846 in fall, but only in 13 credits
Expecting 4.0 in 15 credits for Spring (3.93 Cum)
I'd say my courses are moderately challeging, but I wish that I had pushed myself more.
I'm going to be a reseach assistant for a "Cutlure and Cognition" experiement in the fall for 6-9hrs a week.
I'm going to also have a pretty sweet job this summer at my aunt's law firm.

very good chances. write good essays and hope for the best.

I'd also be interested to know if there is a difference between fall and winter transfer admissions. I'm trying to transfer into NU for fall too, my stats are quite as high though so i'm doubtful of my chances, plus i head NU likes to see you take classes in lots of different disciplines.

Hello people from NU!

I’d like to bring this thread back to life as the last question wasn’t answered. I’m looking to be a transfer student and just as tahitiKO asked, is there a difference in acceptance rates between fall and winter?
