did they tell u ur decision on the phone? probably not.

i was waitlisted from NW. so much for getting an interview.!!! even one of my interviewers said, “You will make an excellent addition to HPME.”

i just got rejected from rice/baylor… not too hopeful anymore

I don’t think i got the “great addition” comment… I got the “which would you choose”

^yeah, this stuff is crazy…i am now learning that I should have gotten better grades and started being active (and off my a$$) before junior year. Junior year is really when I started all my activities. ah…

Big letter or small letter?
Anyone else hear?
This makes my heart race. I REALLY want this bad.

i know, i’m so anxious…i’m actually really bummed they decided to send this by mail, email is so much quicker

yeah…especially since it was email last year…

oy, what a wait…

Yeah, waiting sux

Big letter or small letter?! I live in texas, this is not fair! Haha

^the reality of how difficult it is to get into these programs only hit me after i was rejected by CW’s PPSP… I wish I had applied to more combined programs!
(btw, I haven’t heard back yet)

accepted. small envelope.

celery…

Congrats to you. Which state do you live in?
We live in California and the mail has not arrive yet.

Yay! Small envelope in regular mail. Nice end to a very roller-coaster month. :)

I live in Michigan, btw.

Accepted!!!
I thought for sure it was a rejection because it was so small!

Hey everyone, congrats to all of you that were accepted! If you guys have any questions about the program, feel free to e-mail me at my username @gmail.com. Hope to see you guys in the fall!

rejected but expected it after the amazing people I met at the interview
congrats to all who got in!!!

rejected :(

rejected…waitlisted at NW. you know what i would love…if they tell us what made us get rejected? I mean yeah they will say eveyone was good, but we could only take so many, but what relative to those accepted made us weaker? The overall application? Did they think we could not, as of yet, handle the rigors of med school? Personal qualities? Did they think our interview was monotonous?

@youwillsee1: I’m not on the admissions board, but from what I’ve seen, the main thing they are looking for is a passion for medicine. If someone don’t convince them that you are absolutely set on studying medicine, then they are unlikely to accept that candidate. Also, I think it is important to provide a clear set of reasons why you want to do medicine (what things in your life have guided you in the direction of medicine.) Furthermore, I think it is important to make it extremely clear that you made the decision to pursue a career in medicine on your own and that your decision was not made under the pressure of family or friends.
