Hi! Chance me for Northwestern University? I'm interested in the Medill School of Journalism.

I'm ranked number 2 in my class (small-ish private school). We don't offer honors classes, but I've taken the most challenging program offered at my school (all APs offered except one). We also don't really give out many awards, etc., and there are not as many clubs and such as you would find at a larger school.

Activities
I've played violin VERY seriously for ten years, been in orchestra for eight, and participated in two week summer tours with the orchestra. I've participated in string exam programs, etc. I also play regularly in my church. I definitely plan to play in college and will be contacting the orchestra directors of these schools after I submit my application.
I'm a Varsity Cheerleader and have coached the Middle School team for the past two years.
I've been on a swim team for eleven years.
I'm a member of NHS and participate in a peer-tutoring program.
I'm in a choir and was selected to be part of a smaller, audition only ensemble.
I'm a National Merit Semi-Finalist.
I've participated in drama in school all four years and am part of the morning announcement club.
LOTS and LOTS of community service (through Girl Scouts and church).

INTERNSHIP: this summer, I had the amazing opportunity to work on capitol hill in a North Carolina congressman's office (who happens to be a UNC alum...helpful!) I'm really going to try and bring this experience out in my application.
