Northwestern Law offering 50k merit scholarship per year to ED admits

That's right, though it's odd Northwestern purposely hasn't advertised it. I'm guessing it only wants applicants interested in Northwestern in the first place to apply.

They actually have advertised it via e-mail to people who haven’t applied yet and are registered with LSAC (probably sent it to people who had above a certain LSAT score or whatever). I’m wondering if they’re changing their outlook on the admissions process or something. We’ll have to wait until the end of the cylce and see how it plays out for splitters.

this has been a hot discussion on some blogs focused on law schools, so it’s getting plenty of press.

Are they offering this to every ED admit? It doesn’t seem to be mentioned anywhere on their website. Northwestern oftem seems too modest to market itself. Another example: nowhere on its Economics department webpage says it’s one of the top programs in the nation. They just got a Nobel winner and can use some bragging. ;)

Yes, from what I’ve read, the 150k scholarship will be awarded to every ED admit. They should have come out with a press release with this or something, but I have a feeling they’re trying to be low-key on purpose.

An old football coach was fond of saying, ‘Act like you’ve been there before’, after scoring your first touchdown. If you HAVE to brag… :)

sam lee, ironically, Northwestern has got the best marketing program in the world.
