Northwestern Medill vs School of Communication

Hi!
I’m planning to apply ED to Northwestern this fall but I’m not sure whether I should apply to the Medill School of Journalism or the School of Communication.
I honestly don’t know what exact job I want in the future but as of now, I’m thinking of TV producer, scriptwriter or news broadcaster. I’m not that interested in becoming a journalist but would like to work in either the broadcasting or movie industry.
Here are some questions I have.

  1. Which school (Medill or School of Communication) would you recommend for me?
  2. I heard that the School of Communication is slightly easier to get into but by how much, exactly?
  3. If I apply to the School of Communication, how difficult is it to transfer to Medill?

Thank you everyone!

Google is your friend…http://www.northwestern.edu/academics/

The link gives you a brief overview of each NU school, then provides you with links to get more details.

The Cliff Notes for you - Based on what you list as your goals and interests, you need to apply to Medill.

BTW - there is a special NU thread here on CC, where you are much more likely to get specific feeedback from students and alums. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northwestern-university/

And it’s easy to switch between colleges at NU (I don’t think one is easier/harder to get in to than the other), so don’t sweat it.
