After reading from this forum for the past few months, I've developed the notion that MMSS+ the Kellogg Certificate is perhaps the best path for a Northwestern student who wants to enter a career in consulting, finance, or business. How true is this? I would like to hear from people who have completed either MMSS, Kellogg cert. or both and hear about your and your friends' experiences.
Also, if I were to get into Northwestern ED, I would apply to MMSS, and I would be trying to decide between pursuing MMSS or Industrial Engineering. Is one better than the other for someone who wants to go into consulting or finance, and down the road an MBA at a school like Harvard, Wharton, Booth... etc?

I’d suggest you to research the curriculum and courses more. In the meantime, apply to MMSS and try to get in first. You can always switch to IE later just before you start the school. If you are indifferent, I’d say MMSS because you will have more electives. Including the basic sciences and the whole Engineering First, IEMS requires significantly more courses.

It’s also possible to use engineering courses to fill Kellogg prereqs, if that affects your decision.
