Northwestern of UC Berkeley. Help!

I'm trying to decide between UC Berkeley and Northwestern. I want to study either biology/neuroscience and economics, and I know both schools are great for those, but would like to have some input as to maybe some pros and cons for each?

Thanks guys!!!

If you like an integrated or interdisciplinary approach to your studies, NU is at the forefront. You may want to check out the following speciality programs: ISP and MMSS. My S is a freshman in ISP and left behind a Berkeley Trustee Scholar designation to join their speciality science honors type program.

If you’re choosing based on prestige and selectivity - especially this year - NU has a slight edge over Berkeley. On top of that, if you take into account the recent financial problems the UC’s endured, it might help your choice too. In terms of quality of education and what not, I don’t think you can go wrong with both schools. I personally ranked NU above Berkeley when I chose my schools.

If you’re not a California resident, go to NU. If you’re getting in-state tuition, go to Berkeley.

They’re both great schools, but I’m not a fan of taking huge amounts of debt when you have an option of going to a cheaper comparably-ranked school.
