*OR, haha

Which would you choose?

I like both schools for different reasons, but I ended up attending Chicago because I wanted a school with a more academic and intellectual bent to it and I liked the school's sense of humor and its personality. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about:

http://phoenix.uchicago.edu/testprep/

Northwestern is more well-rounded... a fantastic music school, great pre-professional programs, great sports teams, prevalent yet not overbearing Greek life, situated in a cozy suburb, etc.

I dont know about great sports teams at NU..womens lax and then I couldnt tell you the next best team. Yes, theyre in the big ten, but thats like saying that Stanford and Duke have good football.

great sports teams should be replaced by Big Ten atmosphere. Also, NW is not too big or too small with the city of Chicago just a drive away.

NU absolutely. As good or better for business recruiting, as good or better grad placement, far better social life in my opinion.

UChicago. Because I'm cool like that.

Why?

Northwestern! ..... Because Chicago kids are weird....

Lol, exactly.

Slipper I'm convinced a Chicago student must have kicked your puppy at some point.

I agree, ramses. May be ass too.

Lol Biztogo, that would explain things.

before you commit to university of chicago or northwestern you should be fully aware of what exactly going to university of chicago entails. I would STRONGLY recommend in this case visitng each school overnight before you make your decision, just because they are ranked similarly and are in the same general metropolitan area does NOT mean they are comparable schools.

Chicago's so beautiful though...

Puppy-kicking is part of our core curriculum. Some important person decided that the Chicago's academic experience should include more real-life skills, and since the average GPA here is a measly 3.26, meaning that only half of the school graduates with honors, none of us have a prayer of getting into grad schools or jobs after graduation. So puppy-kicking it is.

I second the visit recommendation. Most students warm to one school over the other, and they're visitable in the same day. Many students come to visit campus with wild conceptions of what we're like (if I stop to help a visiting student with directions, he or she is amazed, because we're not supposed to be friendly) and leave starry-eyed.

Be forewarned, though, that if you come to visit when it's cold or cloudy, your perceptions of both schools will be unfairly tainted. NU and Chicago both have winning campuses, and sometimes visitors interpret cloudy skies as a reflection on the student body. If the sun is shining, though, both schools sparkle.

Chicago IMO!!!!

Oh, crap... This thread again?

Northwestern, (biased opinion.)

"Oh crap...this thread again?"

Nice attempt at putdown. Didn't work but the effort shines through.

University of Chicago!

This past year, NU has had 8 teams ranked in the top ten and the past 2 yrs, NU has finished 29th in the Director's Cup, despite having less varsity sports than pretty much all of the other BCS schools.

As for fb, since 1995, NU has had more B10 Championships (3) than all of the other B10 schools save UoM and dOSU.

As for the OP's typo - Northwestern of Chicago - the 2 schools almost merged back during the 1930s.

Unless you're a nerd and a 1/2, why would you go to UChi over NU? NU. by FAR.
