Northwestern or ucla??

I'm having an incredibly tough time deciding where I should attend next year. I grew up in Southern California so weather is a big deal for me [I'm the type of girl who can wear shorts everyday]. I'm majoring in biology and I hope to attend med school. I've heard that going to NU will better my chances of getting into a good med school because it is a private school and very prestigious. Yet I have a feeling that I will be happier at UCLA simply because of the weather, my friends, and my gpa may be higher at LA assuming NU's competition is crazy. My parents want me to decide with no regards to finances, so pretty much I don't need to incorporate tuition into my decision

So basically I really need some advice, UCLA or Northwestern?
If Northwestern is a better school, should I just disregard my comfort zone and go there for a better future?
Is it stupid for me to turn down the prestige attached to Northwestern's name for a school ranked significantly lower?

THIS DECISION IS EATING UP MY SOUL.

Never disregard your happiness. How well do you think you will do in school if you’re unhappy?

If you do well at UCLA you will get into a good med school.

Neither will guarantee success. YOU and only YOU are the person who can increase your chances at success with whichever you school you attend, whether it means working your but* off at UCLA or NU. There is no significant advantage between both schools.
