My daughter applied for Bio and did not get it.
Applied MechEng and got it
I applied to Biomedical Engineering and did not
Applied neuro and received the email.
I applied for Biomedical Engineering and received it. This seems weird. Why would they reandomly send the mail? Could it be with respect to the subject SATs that the applicant submitted?
@RDJfan28 I took no subject SATs, but have had 4 Dual Enrolled math courses and some AP science stuff (both can replace the subject tests, of which 3 are required), so maybe they send it out based on eligibility to apply???
To people that applied to a major that should’ve received the email: Did you send subject SATs, a dual enrollment transcript, or AP scores? If not, maybe that’s why you didn’t get the email? Just a guess.

I applied to a major that should’ve got the email but didn’t get it. I sent subject SAT scores for Bio and Math and took IB courses.
The ISP email references several criteria to be considered, including 4 years of math with calc, 4 years of science with chem & physics and mentions that AP Calc BC, AP Physics & AP Chem are highly recommended. It adds that you may need to take 3 SAT2 tests, Math 2, Physics & Chem. Maybe apps that ticked all those boxes got the email? My son applied to a non-stem major but did take those classes but only the Math 2 SAT and did get the email earlier this month. We ignored it.
Here is ISP FAQ page and that has quite interesting things one should consider b4 jumping in/out.

No need to overanalyze. Enjoy your senior years and don’t stress yourselves out too much about upcoming decisions. We’ll be graduating before we know it.
Any idea when RD decisions will come out?
My son applied for Biochemistry but did not get it
Yeah, when are decisions coming out?
I think March 16th
I think some people have concluded that the 16th is a possible day
Does Northwestern do “likely letters”? If so, has anyone got one?
are people saying that only cause it was around that time last year, or there was a confirmation for this year?
I think it’s just an estimate based on past years. No official date has been announced yet @NoahBarboza
